# Bentoware > Bentoware is an independent software studio that builds AI-native apps for iPhone and iPad. Our first focus is language learning. We build with AI agents throughout design, coding, art direction, testing and content; people own the vision, taste and final decisions. Website: https://bentoware.ai Contact: hello@bentoware.ai ## Apps - [Kanji Doodle](https://kanjidoodle.com): Learn to read and write Japanese, one kanji story at a time. Each kanji is a short animated story that turns into the character's strokes. Learning path: kana, then kanji, then words that unlock from kanji you know. Handwriting grading, stroke-order practice, memory hooks, and FSRS spaced-repetition review. iPhone and iPad. Status: in development, waitlist open. - [Frocklings: Sew & Twirl](https://frocklings.com): A gentle dress-sewing game for ages 4 to 7 on iPad. Animal friends bring a wish; children design, cut, sew and decorate the dress, then watch them twirl at their party. - Fineshot: A focused editing studio for iPhone and iPad. Import a screenshot or photo, make clean edits, and share the result. - [ankicli](https://takhoffman.github.io/ankicli/): Open-source, local-first Anki command-line control surface for AI agent harnesses such as Claude and Codex. Installed by humans, operated by agents. Supports goal-driven learning plans. - [Fold & Soar](https://foldandsoar.com): Step-by-step folding guides for 44 paper airplanes, flight advice, and a free 3D folding app. ## How we build - AI where it helps the learner: handwriting feedback, memory hooks, practice that adapts. Not a chatbot bolted on. - Native and fast: Swift, built for Apple devices, offline-first where possible. Sessions of five to ten minutes. - Agent-built, human-tasted: AI agents write and test much of the code; people decide what ships.
